About Me

Meet Monica Wells

Your Social Journey Begins Here...
You feel like you've struggled all your life, and that's why you're here. You're always worrying that no one understands what you're going through. That what you have to say isn't that important. Your past has definitely hurt you, and you're petrified that you'll be mistreated because of what you have to say. You freeze, you decide to stay quiet because it's just easier. Maybe along the way, people have made fun of you, or ridiculed you.

You think you're not going to get anywhere! You're frustrated, anxious, and upset. Your parents are constantly bothering you about not socializing. But they don't get it. They don't understand that it's not that you don't want to... it's that you don't know how!
You don’t have to do this alone…

Dealing with socializing and anxiety is tough, but you don't have to do it alone. With a roadmap, some concrete skills, and some hard work, you can start living the life you've always dreamed of. Imagine feeling like you can finally engage with other people and not feel uncomfortable or anxious!

Finding a Therapist… the Struggle is Real

I’m sure you and or your parents have done your homework of going through a million and one profiles on Google or Psychology Today (good for you! Knowledge is power, am I right?). Then you landed on my page to figure out if I was the right therapist for you or for your family. Looking for someone that “gets you” can get a little daunting, but I promise I will try to do my best to give you as much information as possible so you’ll feel comfortable with your decision.

About Treatment…

This is where I’m supposed to tell you about my education, credentialing and all that other “important” stuff… I’ll get to that, but first, let me tell you how I can help you meet your goals.

You are an individual, unique in your own way, you are important, and I hear you when you say that you are struggling! I know sometimes it may feel like nobody understands you, and I know you're hurting. Take this adversity as an opportunity to learn.

You don’t have to do this alone and nobody expects that from you. Together we can come up with a plan to help you live the life you’ve always wanted. We can count on the help of your parents or someone who you feel comfortable with, or I can guide you if that's more your style.

Finally... About Me

I'm a little bit different than other therapists you may have worked with. I make sure to take into account how you learn. Not only am I listening to you, I'm also teaching you pretty important stuff that'll help you feel better. Don't worry! It's not like a classroom, unless if that's more your style.  I  help you understand your strengths (trust me, everyone has them!) and how you can use them to your advantage. I'm an optimist, and I believe everyone can change and grow if they are willing to learn and do the work. I talk a lot about neuroplasticity... because I believe in the power of your beautiful brain!

If you decide that I might be the right therapist for you, you will find someone who is easy going, funny (or at least I think I am!), and compassionate. I love what I do and am always excited about any small triumph you might make. I'm eager to meet you and help you in any way that I can.

  Taking the Next Step…

Taking that next step and coming to therapy can be difficult. You have to be vulnerable and share, you have to roll up your sleeves and do some work... but remember this:

Great things never came from sitting in the comfort zone!
